Meet Erin
Erin Eastburn is the founder of The Beyond State, a community born from her desire to spend a little less time online and a lot more time living. After years of working in digital marketing and building brands, she found herself craving an escape from screens and a return to creating with her hands.
Erin Eastburn has spent her career in the business of creativity. After moving to New York City, she spent nearly a decade working across the beauty and fashion industries, building a career in digital marketing and eventually becoming a business owner herself. Today, she works with brands across beauty, wellness, fashion, and hospitality, helping them build communities and tell their stories online.
But after almost ten years in New York, Erin found herself craving a sense of grounding the city could no longer give her. She moved back to her home state of Colorado and began building a life that made more room for the things she had always loved outside of work.
When your days are filled with Zoom meetings, emails, and endless scrolling in the name of "inspiration," getting offline starts to feel less like a luxury and more like a necessity.
For Erin, that meant returning to art.
She grew up taking figure drawing and pastel classes and has always been drawn to making things with her hands. In 2021, she began working with clay, learning both handbuilding and wheel pottery. What started as a creative outlet became an important ritual in her life, a reason to put down her phone, slow down, and focus entirely on what was in front of her.
In 2026, Erin began working from the art studio at her Denver home and inviting friends over to create alongside her. Some of the most genuine moments of connection happened there, gathered around a table or sitting in the backyard, making things, talking, laughing, and spending an afternoon together without a screen at the center of it.
Those afternoons became the foundation for The Beyond State.
What began as an offline space for friends has grown into a community for people who want to make more room for creativity, connection, and slow living in their everyday lives. Through IRL gatherings in Denver, our Substack, and creative courses you can explore on your own time, The Beyond State is an invitation to step away from the screen and return to the hobbies, rituals, people, and moments that make life feel full.
Join the waitlist for upcoming gatherings, follow along on Substack, or find a little inspiration to create your own version of slow living, wherever you are.
